Description

Mostly, we and I take images of nebula to create “pretty pictures”.  Oh lord the heavens are beautiful indeed!  But this image is more of a study of a not so often imaged faint nebula.

I could not find much on it except for @Gary Imm’s description of same here, “The structure of the HII emission is interesting in that there appears to be a faint broken ring of emission, with several emission arcs outside of the ring but concentric to it. But the structure is very loose, to the point that there could be no definitive pattern here at all. Based on its size, it is possible that this object is an ancient supernova remnant, although its structure doesn't look quite right to me for it to be one.”  Thanks Gary…but I’m clueless to help in the discussion 🤪!

This image, from bortle 7, is from my OSC camera with the Antlia dual narrowband (5nm) filter.  I did take some subs with the Lpro filter to add RGB stars.  I took the stock Antlia data and aggressively blended the Ha channel (extracted using APP) to bring out the structure as much as possible.
